Well, after months of looking, I have finally found a guinea pig rescue. The only problem is that it is 8 hours away and may not be operational anymore. I e-mailed the lady that runs it to see. I am not thinking about getting any new piggies soon, but it would be nice if I did not have to go to a pet store when and if I wanted another. Also, I will be able to tell people that there is a rescue in our part of the country, so people that don't mind a long drive might go there instead. I do have a question however, is it normal for a rescue to give away their piggies for free. This lady will give them way so long as they are adopted in pairs or if you can prove that you have another same-sex one at home. I automatically assumed that she would have to charge something for the expenses that she incurres.
Anyway, I really hope that it is still open.
