Extending cage

I've been meaning to upgrade my cage to a 2x4, but I've got a problem with the size of my coroplast. It's only long enough for a 2x3 & apparently you can't get any boards longer than 140 cm (55 inches).

So I guess I'll be cutting & taping two pieces together. Does anyone have any experience with this? Will it still be as sturdy? Does anyone have any tips? I'm actually really satisfied with the durability of coroplast, but I'm just wondering if this will in anyway effect the cage at all?

Wow that's small coroplast. Here I got mine cut down to 68" long and still had lots left over. I have heard some people on here say they've taped pieces together and as long as you do it well it works. Good luck

Is that a regional thing? Have you tried a different store. The piece I bought was 8 ft long. I taped my Cutting boo-boos with clear packing tape. Since you will have stuff over it, I would think that this would be ok since the piggies would get to it to chew. You may have to change it if it get icky from pee but if it is taped in the center and piggie pee in corners, woulnt see that this would be muchof a problem.

I too had to tape peices of coroplast together, it works fine I have nO problems at all with it.

Taping shouldn't effect the coroplast at all. I suggest duct tape for taping the pieces together. They make it in a variety of colors, so maybe you could get one to match your coroplast. I would tape the top and the bottom to make sure there is no leakage.

I taped my big 4x6 together. It was really easy and I have had no problem with it.
