Canada Eating newspaper

Just lately, our guinea pig has started to eat the newspaper I put under his bedding. Is this okay or should I stop using the newspaper? Any help would be appreciated.

A little bit of chewing is ok as long as the newspaper uses only natural ink. Soy based ink I believe. You should call the newspaper company to find out. If they use regular ink you should not even have it in the cage.

Yes. I am knowledgeable about cats, (I have two) and dogs (one), but the guinea pig is all new for me. He's my daughters pet.

Cool. I have 6 cats (love them, 1 dog (Chihuahua), and 9 guinea pigs (hopefully getting 1-2 more soon). I used to rabbits, quail, and hamster!

Holy cow, you have lots of pets. I also have 3 girls aged 10, 6 and 3, so my quantity of pets keeps me busy enough.

I have you all beat! I have 6 cats,6 dogs,2 parrots,1 canary,1hamster,fish and last (but not least) 4 guinea pigs. Anyway back to the topic "newspaper." I use it too but I was told on one of these sites that if it was over three days old it was safe to use.I always use week old paper and havn't had a problem but now I don't know............!
