My husband and I finally found the cubes for a cage and we started building it (hooray!), and I was wondering if anyone has ever made a door for their cage. Any advice?

My mom made a porch to collect the shavings the piggers carry with them when they come out of the cage.

I have a couple different doors

1. Doors swing open like French doors

2. Two single doors

3. Accordian doors - the first picture shows them down. The second picutre shows how they fold up.

It has actually been scaled down just a bit. This is due to the loaction and the easy of cleaning it. We still have the bottom as a 2x4 but now the 2nd level is just a 1x3 and the 3rd level is just a 1x2. They are still very happy, but I am always on the look out for new ideas.

Thanks for the kind words.

Ooh, I love the accordion doors! Even with the space issue, you have done a great job giving them great living space. It looks like you've made everything easily accessible, too! It's an awesome example of how to make a good cage in a small space.
