Dog proofing cage!

Well to start off I'll explain that my boyfriend and I just moved from South Dakota to Louisiana about 2 days ago and we're staying with his parents for a little while. Well, his parents have two pitbulls and while they're sweethearts the male pitbull has already tried getting in their cage which is currently OPEN! The cage has to be kept in our bedroom as there is no room anywhere else so the door is kept shut BUT I do realize doors do sometimes get left open and part of the cage is already closed off. Should I go ahead and buy more grids to completely close the cage up to be safe?

Yes, get the shelving you need and make tops. I lost 4 guinea pigs to a dog that got into my bathroom, when I thought the door was closed tight. One pig hid under a hidey or I would have lost all of them. It really is a heartbreaking thing. You do not want it to happen to you.
Make your babies safe ASAP. You wont regret it.
