Does anyone have any experience with these wipes that make the piggys coats shiny? It looks like a pretty good idea although I'm not too sure because Ruthie cleans herself all the time and I don't want her to lick it off if the stuff isn't good for them. Thanks!

If it's not really nessisary i wouldn't use it (to clean your piggers, just give a bath every six months or so.)

yeah i wouldnt chance it because piggies clean themselves so often. you dont really know whats in the wipes.

like said before, no real need for it.

I also think there is no real need. The chemicals may be toxic, and there is no real need other than for our aesthetic pleasure. Thanks for asking!

Agreed - the way to clean an animal isn't to wipe it with chemicals which it will then ingest as it grooms. Most pigs keep themselves perfectly clean, but if you do feel she needs a bit of extra help, just get a damp cloth and wipe down the bits you think need a bit of extra help. Pigs should only need bathing a couple of times a year (if that) so try to avoid that if you can - most pigs hate baths and soap really interferes with the natural oils in their coat.

Thanks! Ruthie is a peruvian so I give her baths in the summer time but she is very clean and cleans herself all the time ( it is so cute! ) Thank you!

My piggers love to get water on them. When I fill the tub up with water just enough to cover their feet and they go crazy and run up and down the tub to get wet and jump on top the other piggers to get them wet too.

I don't doubt there are a few pigs who do genuinely like water, but many people confuse panic for them having fun. People often say 'they like swimming' whereas in actual fact they are paddling round desperately trying to find a way of climbing out - even if it's not deep, they can feel like they're drowning which makes them splash around a lot looking for an escape route. They will also try and climb up on each other - not to try and 'dunk' them for fun, but because they want to climb out in to the dry.

Exactly! We had a thread about that once if someone feels the need to read about it.

One of my pictures is of a bath time. I give all of them baths at the same time so it is easier. Sunny was so scared he climed on top of Honey and Sassy's heads. He fit because he was only a month old at the time. Samson almost leaped out of the tub. If I hadent cought him he would have.
