Dimensions?
I am wanting to build a cage before we bring home our new friends. I am thinking of setting them on our dining room table (been wanting a new one, how's that for a good excuse!) The table we have is 45"x28". How wide can we make our cage? Do we need to have any room around the cage to make it more stable, or is it okay to go right to the edge? Do they slide around at all, and if so, how can I prevent that? If the table is not big enough, what else can I use to put it up? I run a home daycare, so I really don't want to put it on the floor to help protect them from curious little hands. I want the kids to be able to see them and interact with them, but only with supervision. If I had it on the floor, I would have to put a top on it - maybe that would not be a bad idea at any rate.
Any suggestions about cavies and kids?
