I have a Ferret Nation Cage and I'm wondering how you set it up like rabbit cages? You know with no bedding inside and something to catch all their poop underneath. If anyone knows how or if they think its a bad idea for three guinea pigs please let me know.

Is this a double or a single ferret nation? If its a single it is too small. If it's a double the only way it could work as a cage is if you did something like this:

You could use coroplast and make a tray for the inside like the picture. You can't leave the cage upright with all the ladders and lofts though. Guinea pigs need space to run, not levels as they are not good climbers.

If you use the cage in the way that it's used in the picture it's about 12.5 square feet. If you have 3 sows that get along well they should be fine in that sized cage. If you have boars it could be completely different as boys have a tendency to need more space.

Guinea pigs can't have bare wires underneath their feet like rabbits. It will rub and cut away at their feet. Rabbits have fur on their feet and bigger feet in general so it's not a problem for them.

It actually is a problem for rabbits. They should not be kept on wire bottomed cages.

Thank you all for the help. I have three guinea pigs and limited space so I'm trying to figure out a way to make their cage bigger its 91cm length and 63cm width so I need some ideas to make their space bigger with the Critter Nation cage.
