Shes got a little split in her left ear thats been there since I got her, but she doesnt seem phased by it and vet says shes a healthy girl! All I need to do now is build her a C&C!

Thats nothing to worry about if they are old healed up injuries . Ferb's ears are permanently missing some pieces from before I got him. The co-worker I adopted him from had bought him at a pet store so I'm guessing he came from a breeder. I read that overcrowding in cages will cause them to nibble each others ears. Plus, he's so small as an adult he must have been the runt.

Vet said to wait until she's truly comfortable before introducing a friend and considering I am in dire need of building a c&c (I have a large hutch atm that I got with Dennis, obviously previous owners were useless) I may wait till I've built that.

How sad, I couldn't ever bring myself to buy anything from a petshop.

My pig was the same way, and he hated being petted too! Wouldn't even come to me even for a treat. Even though he's older it didn't take him long to get used to me. Just plenty of treats for when he came to me and plenty of short lap time. I thought he would never be able to enjoy my company, but now he loves it!

It's obvious pigs are naturally affectionate creatures, much like ourselves!

Glad to know I've got a bit of a reputation xD The breed is an American Silkie mix.

As a general note to everyone, the long hairs are pretty easy to tell apart. There are four (not including their satin versions) : Peruvian, Silkie, Coronet, and Texel.
- Texels are obvious because they have the curls.
- Coronets have a crest on the center of their head like White Cresteds do.
- Peruvians have rosettes, and hair that goes over the FRONT of the face,
- and Silkies have hair the sweeps behind the BACK of the face.

:) Hope its helpful.

Yay I'm glad she's starting to like you! Don't worry about her ear!
My poor Thoreau has NO ears do to being a poor hoarded pig before he was rescued by OCCH and then me!

Mizzy that is very helpful! When I googled pictures of Coronets, none of them showed the crest in the middle of their head, so thats why I thought her pig was one.
