Ok I found it...this is a quote from https://www.guinealynx.info/healthycavy.html#diet ..."NOT RECOMMENDED IN DIET: Mixes or treats with nuts, seeds, dried fruit and dyed pieces"...I would suggest reading over that link and even this one as well https://www.guinealynx.info/nutrition.html

i think its diffrent though the dried fruit in the mix are brittle, it would be more like fresh dried fruits. I occasionally give my pigs raisens and sun-dried tomatoes.I think it would be ok

I have a food dehydrator as well and use it often to dehydrate veggies for stews. Since there are no preservatives or anything like you'd find in store-bought dehydrated fruits, I don't understand why it would be harmful. Another thought though, why not dehydrate to save them then rehydrate when it's time to give your piggies? A few minutes in a water bath and they're back to their original hydrated state.

Dried fruit is a more concentrated source of sugar so it's not ideal. Even fresh fruit should be limited because guinea pigs don't digest sugars well, and dried fruit is worse. Stick to veggies if you don't have fresh fruit in - much better for them.

I only give fruit once maybe twice a week. But on the week I dont have a chance to make it to the store..I thought if I had some dehydrated fruit,,that I do myself..would do...thanks for all the great replies! :) Thanks so much for finding the site Numphy!!

I guess my only thing would be that its chewy?
