Danger for my girls?

Okay, now that I have this neutered boar, I'm having second thoughts. Everybody says a neutered boar and two sows works fine but what if it doesn't? My Zirbel is used to being the dominant pig in the cage - what if she thinks she's a male, and doesn't back down? She looks so small compared to the big guy. Is there any danger that he hurts her badly?

I don't think that a female and a male would generally fight... maybe if she was super-dominant.

I am getting ready to introduce a neutered male and a female to my two females. I don't know what is going to happen.

They will be fine don't worry too much. THere will be a bit of nipping and mounting, other than that, they will be good.

A male and female are normally the least likely to fight, so I wouldn't worry unless a problem arises. Unless your female is abnormally aggressive, I would doubt there would be a problem. Just follow the steps on cavy spirit and keep a towel ready, I'm sure everything will go fine.

She's not abnormally aggressive at all. It's just that my two girls had just established a very calm relationship - they aren't the best of friends but get along nicely - and now this boar will surely cause some uproar. Oh well... I'll have to wait till the end of quarantine anyway.

Goodluck with the introducing.

I don’t think you have anything to worry about. The actual sexual dynamics between male and dominant female are much different then submissive female and dominant female.

Your girl knows she’s a girl and will act appropriately when in the presence of a male. There may be some scuffles but most likely they will be between the girls as your dominant reminds your other girl of her superiority as "head of the harem".

Just keep an eye on them but it should all work itself out nicely.

I have three girls and a male. The one dominant girl, who is very pushy towards the other girls kind of claimed him as her boyfriend, and doesn't share him with the other girls. Likewise, he has taken to her more. What I have noticed since I added my boar was just a lot more noice. The girls squealing trying to get away from him, and him making his rumble noices. When I take him out, the cage is quiet.
