Cuddles, Pats and Strokes

Hello! It amazes me just how different my cavies are. One (Sonata) lets me lie her on her back and likes it when I stroke her belly and when I scratch her under her jaw, but she doesn't like being stroked on her back. Lilly loves it when I gently massage her shoulders but only sometimes likes being stroked on her back, she also loves to sleep under a blanket . Symphony loves being stroked on her back and tickled under her chin but she hates being under a blanket. lol Is their anything that all piggies like? One of them frets when I give her cuddles, she breathes heavily and I pat her and try to calm her down , but it doesn't work. I have even tried giving her cuddles while feeding her fresh veg by hand, she is fine sometimes but other times she frets. Any Advice?

Did you get her from a rescue/shelter? She may have had a bad experience with being handled at some stage in her previous home which she remembers.She probably just dislikes being handled. Try not to handle her for too much time...little and often is better. Have you tried covering her body with a blanket during cuddles?

My Charlie likes being massaged...I draw little circles with a tiny amount of pressure all over him, and he loves it! Tuppence and Lottie hate being handled, although they are slowly starting to let me hold them for a little bit longer each day.

I have 2 girls, penny and nickel. Penny loves me rubbing along her forehead and nose and Nickel hates that but loves being stroked with my fingers along her back and butt. It's amazing how each piggy has their own personality, likes and dislikes.

Nugget loves it under his chin. CC enjoys a good cuddle and Smores enjoys being scratched by his ear.

Carrot bites me when I try to stroke him under his chin or side or nose but he likes being petted on his back.

Meimei loves be petted on the head, especially when kissed (with exagerated kissings ound) on her head, she licks whatever is in sight. But, if you would to stroke anything below her neck, she..... NIPS.
Beibei loves to be petted/cuddled/stroked/touched ANYWHERE. Even if you are just holding her and watching TV, she's more than happy to find her spot in between your thighs and go to sleep. She just wants to be near/on/under/beside you.
Feifei.... I have not figure this one out yet. She's still very cautious of me, and adding to her experience of dropped by the boys before, might take a lot more time. Well, at least she stoppped chattering her teeth at me when I now go over and pet her.

Mookie likes to wrap himself around my neck (maybe in his last life he was a collar -lol) and just hang there - he'll stay there for a half hour w/o moving - I mostly stroke his head and under his chin now and then - if I go below "the waist" (wherever a gp's waistline is?) - I usually get a little chutter of dislike - he also likes to stretch out across my chest with his back feet resting on a finger of my hand - he likes to have his feet gently massaged.
