I flip on the 24hour news channel every morning to check the temp outside and I heard someone say guinea pig on there. Well, they repeat the news about every 15 mins or so, I sat and waited til they repeated the story.

Charges were dropped for 3 IU college kids who had put a "parachute" on a guinea pig and dropped him from an 8 story window! They said 2 of them were down on the ground to retrieve the pig but it had gotten stuck in a tree. The charges were dropped because they'd already paid a $500 fine for it.

Thank goodness the pig lived, but that is just insane! I'm sittin here thinkin, how would you like it if someone handmade a parachute and put it on you to drop you out the window! Another reason why Guinea Pigs are preferably taken care of by an adult. =(

I heard about this story before. They were pobably drunk/high or extremely stupid. Some people are just discusting.

What does IU mean?

Indiana University.

College students are stupid, but when I was in college I didn't know anyone who would put an animal in danger like that. Poor guinea pig, it should be taken away from the kids.

I haven't heard this story, but man these young men are suppose to be adults, our future learders. That is a shame, poor piggie.

Thats horrible. I feel so bad for the piggie and I am so happy it lived.

I can't even imagine coming up with a scheme like that. Any word on where the pig is now?

What people do to be on the news.

They said that the pig was taken to the Bloomington Animal Shelter. I don't live in Bloomington, but it is a nice town so I hope it's a good place for the pig to be.

That's really sad. That never would have happened to, say... a lion...

Just goes to show: nice "guys" get thrown out the window...
