Could I use a comforter?

Could I use a comforter in place of towels under the fleece? I think that'd make it easier to hand wash. Thank you.

Sure. It's a lot easier than having to sew the fleece to regular quilt batting.

That's what I use!! I got a few from Goodwill and cut them to size.

I am going ona year now (well almost!) with Billie and would like to get him a cozy - would some sewn comforter bits be ok, or would just a product be better store bought? And perhaps I am being too nervous, but he won't chew this and accidently swallow it? Thanks!!
