I have pillow stuffing (cotton) and I have an igloo in the cage for my piggies to hide in. If I use bedding in the cage and put the cotton in the igloo for like a warmer and more comfortable area would it be OK or will they eat it?

I wouldn't chance it. You never know, some Pigs could care less and won't eat it. But if they do, it could clog up their digestive system... Better safe then sorry, I wouldn't do it.

If you want to use your cotton stuffing, you could make them a pillow or couch! I made Eleanor and Penelope a couch that I have pictured here but now I make simple pillows (saves time) with extra fabric and cotton bedding. Eleanor loves sitting on the little pillows that I sew in fact I stayed home today and I caught her sleeping on it for hours.

how do you wash it?

You can hand wash them with a little liquid soap and hot water. It takes a while for them to dry. I usually only use them for a few months depending on how quickly they get dirty. The ones that the girls move into their house get dirtier than the ones next to their potty. Then I just toss them. They are so easy to make and the cotton filling is so cheap.

Here's a pic of Eleanor on the current one in the cage and three that I made this morning as gifts for my brother's guinea pig.

Thanks! Those pillow ideas and beds are sooo cute! Maybe I'll make it for a Christmas present :)

Do be careful with those cotton things and make sure the pigs aren't gnawing them in an area you can't see well. Cotton will clog up their intestinal tracts and kill them very quickly.

You can wash them very well in a washer and dryer too...
