I have 2 pigs that are 1 month old. I am pretty positive they are both girls, I did a "push test" on both my pigs and nothing "personal" poped out, and they show no signs of testicals. Are they still too young to really tell? I looked at some sexing sites and they sorta helped, but not much.

My father thinks at least one of the pigs are male. My mother, father, and myself have seen what looks like the pig is trying to get freaky (purrs and gets real close to one another and perhaps maybe, looks like he/she is trying to get on one another) but before anything really "happens" they both squeal/squeak and popcorn like crazy. Anyone know what this is? Are they trying to make piggy love, or just playing/being social? We've never actually seen them "do it," so I'm sort of confused. It's not like they perform this all the time, from what we see anyway. They arn't going to go to the vet untill August unfortunatly, so we wont really know for a while. When can pigs sucessfully reproduce? (so I know if i need to separate them now just in case) Last thing I want is mutant incest babies! Thanks!

One month is plenty old enough to tell what sex you have. Have you seen this page? https://www.cavyspirit.com/sexing.htm Has lots of pictures to help you confirm what sex your pigs are.

If you can't be 100% sure they're both girls, then you need to have them checked by a vet or an experienced guinea pig owner. If there's the slightest chance they could be of the opposite sex, you don't want them left together any longer. If you can't determine that now they need to be separated immediately - four weeks of age is the latest that males and females should be left together.

Both opposite sex pairs and same sex pairs (males and females) will rumble around and mount each other - it's dominance behaviour as well as general friskiness. With all the popcorning, it sounds like they are having fun together - once you can make sure they're not of the opposite sex, you can just leave them to it!
