Over population and extinction are two completely different things. What we are trying to accomplish, is to raise awareness of overpopulation and trying to do something about it. I think that last thing that many people want to happen is for the animals to go extinct. Humans are not perfect, never have been, and never will be, so there are always going to be litters, accidental or not, which will contribute to the overpopulation issue.
Petstores would not be such a problem if they actually did try to do something about overpopulation instead of just claiming that they do. The say that they do adoptions, but that is only to cover up what really goes on with the breeding.

Although the "right not to be bothered" I am fairly certain is not a constitutional right. If this were true my mother in law would not be allowed to speak to me.

This is totally off-topic, but Cagney, I just loved this. :):):) I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard. Oh would that it be true! Can you imagine the family relationships if you actually had a right to not be bothered? (sidenote: I'm not talking about the restraining order type of "not bothering.")

Lol, I know for sure that my mother in law wouldn't be around either if that were true!

Off-Topic: Why do people always have such problems and issues and hang-ups with their poor in-laws? I thought that kind of drama was only on TV or in movies......There has got to be some kind of chemistry going on that repels people from their in-laws.......geeze.

Off-Topic Respons: Well, I would say that the majority of parent-in-law trouble isn't quite the same as what you see on TV/Movies. I think a lot of it stems from the fact that most parents like to be involved and give their input on their childrens lives. A much better word is meddle, parents want to know what their children are doing. We tolerate this from our own parents because we are use to it, but when you get married you also get it from your spouses parents too. Since this person, although you know them and may even really like them, its hard to get use to them meddling in your life because you don't, and may never, have the same view of them as you do your own parents.

Speaking from experience, its can be very, extremely awkward..and irritating.

Do not forget that the person your child marries is never good enough in the in-laws' eyes. My mother-in-law dislikes me for my chosen profession and the fact that I have more education than my husband. She is convinced I am going to outgrow him one of these days. More than likely I am going to kill him this summer if he does not give me adequate time away from the kids to study for the exam of my life this summer.

While I agree that does happen Res Judicata, I would say that is one of the things exaggerated by TV/Movies. The all of the married couples my wife and I hang out with, granted not that many, don't have this issue. Nor do I or my wife. Infact my mother-in-law adores me for god knows what reason.

You are lucky. I do wish I got along better with my husband's mother. And how this thread has digressed -- from breeding/extinction to constitutional law to mothers-in-law.
