I was wondering when I should start clipping the nails of my guinea pigs. I just got them a week ago, and I know that in the middle of the week we are going to clip Connie's nails. But when should you start clipping a babies? I read when they are 2 months old? When would you suggest.
Also what would be easier to use; animal nail clippers or human ones?

I have both on my older pig using human clips work fine but i found its easier on little ones with animals

i use regular human kind as well.

as far as babies, i've heard about 2 months as well but i started mine up in a month. just to get them used to it. it wont harm them if you start early. just be sure to stay away from the quick (blood vessel).

I started mine in a month and half. I know by using pet clippers and regular nail clippers that we use. And the regular nail clippers we use is so much easier for piggies and bunnies than the pet ones. Its much smaller and easier to use and handle with fridgie piggie.

Okay, thanks. I think this week sometime we will start. And I know to be careful, luckly all but a few nails on each of our pigs are white. We have a dog with dark nails and I always cut less then what they do when we get her groomed. I would just rather clip them twice as often rather then ending up with her bleeding.
