What are some safe ways to clean wooden structures if I don't have a dishwasher? Can I just use regular dish soap and scrub with a scrub brush?

i wouldnt use soap because the wood can actually absorb some of the soap into it. you can bake them in the oven.

yeah bake them in the oven at 350 for 25-30 minutes

you can also use some water proof tape (duck tape) and tape all around the bottom so that the urine doesnt soak up in the wood. You can also sand the wooden house with sand papper to get rid of the dirty layer. I have 2 of these wooden houses and if you follow these steps you almost never hae to sand/wash it.

If you do have a dishwasher, can you put them in there?
And what about a PVC pipe?

I'm not sure I would put a wooden house in the dishwasher...seems like it would get warped or ruined. For cleaning wooden houses and PVC pipes, I use white vinegar mixed with water 50:50 in a spray bottle. If you wanted to put the PVC pipe in the dishwasher though, it would probably be fine.

I used to do this but my piggies decided that tape is delicious! (If you read my post about eating the carpet you'll know that my Fozzie will eat anything.
