Cleaning cage-bottom stains

I've noticed that my cage has built up these stain-residues, from pig-waste. How to clean this away? My cage is a 2x5, working on finding time to go get coroplast for 2nd level, so I've never just taken it outside and hosed it down (Because it's large). Usually I scrape some at the spots with the scoop-tray-thingy, and then wipe the whole cage down with a "wash-rag," as we call it. Suggestions, please?

(Please note: I'm asking for advice so I can be a better piggy mom...so please don't reprimand and snap at me for something I'm doing wrong, I'm really honestly trying... Thank you for your cooperation. :)

I have the same problem. I now use newspaper on the bottom under the shavings. I don't know how it will work, because I just put it in today.

Otherwise use a 50/50 vinegar/water solution and an old toothbrush or the brillo side of a sponge and scrub.

I spray my cages down with straight vinegar and let it soak for about 10 minutes, then I scrub it down and wipe it clean. When it's dry, there is no vinegar smell.

Soaking with vinegar usually helps as already stated.

Ok, thanks, y'all! Going to try the vinegar soon...and glad that the spots (I'm not alone!) don't mean that I'm doing wrong! ;)

I had that problem with stains, also. So I started lining the bottom on the cage with plastic trash bags (cheaper than the "litter liners" you can purchase for that specific purpose.) Then I put newspaper and bedding over the plastic bags. It has worked pretty well.
