Okay, don't hate me....I gave in to my kids constant pestering and we got a little guinea pig today. She is a beautiful little girl, I am thinking about a month old. I think she is a girl but plan to have her vet checked to be sure of that. We named her Cinnamon. She is white, a cinnamon color and then a darker brown. I will get some pictures up of her tomorrow, after she has settled in some and the kids are at school. She is very small compared to Petunia and very relaxed when I held her.
She is being housed in an almost 1.9x2.9 C&C (it is a little smaller than a 2x3...like one row in on each grid since I measured the coroplast wrong and cut it a little smaller). This is actually Petunia's summer cage since Cinnamon's multi-level is not finished yet. When finished, her multi-level will be 2x3 with a 1x3 upper level. I am also going to put a cover on her cage until we finish the larger one since she is down lower than we planned to keep her.
I still plan to get a second girl from the litter to be born in a few weeks and will introduce the two girls on neutral ground and keep them apart until I am sure there won't be any problems.
Cinnamon is hanging out in her little house (3 sided) and has timothy hay, pellets, fresh fruit and veggies with her. Since she is new, we plan to leave her alone for a few days before introducing her to floor time.
I will get some pictures of her as well as her nether regions to get opinions on gender. I did look at the others that were with her, they all have the same looking genital region and was told they were female but even with pictures to go by, they all look like males to me.
