I've had piggies for over ten years and never heard this one before. Butter's friend Punkin passed away and I got her two young females for company- she was so lonely! Now, sometimes in the middle of the night, someone starts chirping.... first it's like chirp.....chirp.....chirp..... then all of a sudden it's chirpchirpchirpchirpchirp.... lol like she's singing to herself! I think it's funny, save for the fact it's 3AM!! And I have never had any of my piggies do that! If I tell them "BE QUIET!" they do shut up.

So, is she mad/scared/angry.... just talking to herself??

I always thought singing was a good thing...
Maybe I'm wrong, but maybe she's happy she has friends again.

The chirping is a mystery and it seems no one knows for certain what it means. Our first guinea pig started "signing" early one morning, and I thought somehow a bird had flown into the house. It took a few moments before we figured out it was the guinea pig. He seemed very happy. About a month later our other piggie sang to me at sunrise, again seeming very happy. The first piggie has passed; we still have the other and now two more, but I have never had any of them sing to me again. I am thinking maybe they only liked singing to each other.
