Could you use chinchilla sand for guinea pigs to roll around in? I have used it for hamsters for them to roll around in.

I don't use it and i don't think much people here do either. I think it would stick to there fur and make it look like they just rolled around in a very dusty or dirty (and literally dirty as in dirt) place. I wouldn't use it. I would be on the safe side (and save some money for veggies) and NOT buy it.

I see no reason to use it, I would never use it. They didn't come from the desert like chinchillas.

just seems like a waste of money to me.

Yep major waste of money.

i bet they wouldnt even like it or know how to use it. they would probably end up using it as a litter box.

guinea pigs dont really roll around in anything anyway. plus, it may be harmful if they eat it (as piggies tend to try a little of everything in their cage)

just a thought

definately a good thought, being precautious, that what we want. the safety of our piglings

Guinea pigs have sensitive respiratory systems and sand would not be good for them - too dusty.

My piggie walked in my chins bath house a couple of times and just stood there. He never tried to roll. I ended up keeping the bath house out of the piggies reach after reading how very sensitive their little piggie eyes are and resp systems.
