Behavior Chin Rubs

I notice with my two girls, if i rub under their chins they lift their heads up. Is that their way of giving me access and saying "that's the spot"

My two girls do this too! I always assumed that it meant that they liked it.

That's the one spot that all of my guinea pigs seem to enjoy being scratched. If I rub their chins or their ears they will just sit still and sometimes I've seen them shut their eyes. One of my girls seem to enjoy it if I gently rub along the back of her neck.

Of course like typical guinea pigs they only allow all of the rubs and scratches for a limited time. When they get tired of it they quickly run away and the massage time is over as far as they are concerned.

One of our pigs does that too and she purrs.

Leo loves cheek and chin skritches. Even chest rubs if he's particularly amenable (not often).

Simon likes his cheeks and chest scratched too. If I start scratching under his chin, he'll stick his head in the air and stretch his neck as far as it'll go and grumble at me. He looks like a plucked chicken when he does it.


Can't scratch their backs tho. Simon won't allow it and Leo will either immediately turn around and start chewing his back, or chewing your finger, or chewing whatever is closest to him whether it be a carpet, a carboard tube, anything. He chews HARD.
