Chewing Chewing on C&C okay?

I technically don't have a C&C cage. I have the storage cubes, but my dad built a bottom part. It is not covering the cubes, so they are chewing on it a lot. I give them everything they need. I give them timothy hay, pellets, and chew toys, but they will still chew on it. Is this safe, or should I cover it somehow?

Your pigs are housed on the metal grids with nothing between?

Yes, I know it sounds bad, but I need proof to show my parents that that's bad for them.

and then i wonder where all the poop and pee goes! into the storage cubes??

it should be ok with minimal chewing, as long as you notice they're not eating it up

It does have a wooden bottom with towels and fleece. Just not the sides.

So they are just chewing on the bars of the cube? Some pigs chew on the grids no matter what they have, you can spray bitters on the grids.
