Okay, I know that on your profile there's a little section where you can name your cavies, but I know that it's not big enough for some of us with larger herds to say a little something about our pigs' personalities. That said, I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can describe our piggies' little quirks, cutenesses, and sillinesses. I guess I'll begin:

Bluebell: Bluebell is my sweet Silkie girl. She can't wheek except when she's very, very, excited, and she likes to climb on my lap when I sit in the cage with her. Bluebell is herd leader and her hobbies include: snuggling with Lilly, giving me sad looks when I have no veggies for her, trying and failing to wheek (quite endearing to watch), and popcorning at random moments.

Lilly: she's my social American, complete with a motherly soul. She's always defending the smaller ones who bully each other. Her BFF is definitely Bluebell, and her hobbies include: snuggling with Bluebell, running up to the grids to say hello to me, sucking the water bottle spout relentlessly when she drinks, and munching hay.

Twilla: a defiant little American who likes things her own way. She's constantly trying to brew up little bits of trouble in the cage. But once you get past that, she's a lovable cavy. Her hobbies include: sleeping in her tunnel with Miss Rhino and Fawn, bugging the "adults," and chasing Fawn until Lilly intervenes.

Fawn: Fawn is one of the most adorable little Cresteds I've ever seen. She may be small for now, but what she lacks in size she makes up for in smarts and stubborness. She doesn't give up what she wants just because she's small. If Bluebell tries to take the piece of lettuce in her mouth, she'll hang on grimly until Bluebell lays off. Her hobbies include: sleeping in the tunnel with Miss Rhino and Twilla, snuggling with the hay, and sitting on the brick.

Miss Rhino: my happy-go-lucky Abyssinian girl. She's got a lot of attitude stored up in her tufty little body, and she's not afraid to get in a nibble at my hand when the mood calls. Her hobbies include: popcorning when I come in the room, biting my hands when I clip her nails (believe me, it hurts!), and flopping down for a nap in the tunnel.

I hope to see some other piggy character sketches!

Great idea! Bacon and Eggs have very different personalities, and so many characteristics I can't fit all of them in the description! :)

Bacon: Bacon's my top pig. He was on his own with me for 6 months before I got Eggs, and he takes that seriously. He's always been my snuggler, momma's boy. He does this cute little thing with his ears when he sleeps, a little twitch. He is the most trusting of the two. He's a tan and white American, and mostly quiet. I hardly every hear him wheek, unless it's veggie time. He enjoys: Stealing food from Eggs, chewing on the fleece, throwing things, and chewing on EVERYTHING. I got him from a breeder (Never again...) and when he came to me at six months he was very skittish, not handled at all. But, a year and a half later, he's a totally different piggy, with a lovable, curious, and "top pig" personality.

Eggs: Eggs is my adorable little submissive brown and white Abyssinian. He has bicolored nostrils; one pink, one black. He's almost a year old now, and I'm guessing the runt of his litter. When I got him at six weeks from a family who's guinea pigs accidentally had a litter (I think), and out of all of his brothers he was the smallest, and was sitting away from the group. I knew instantly when I lay eyes on him that he was the one I wanted. He's still very skittish, but he's still warming up, after nearly a year of being with me. Eggs is my little speedy boy, and can't sit still unless there are some veggies. He enjoys: Darting in to steal Bacon's food, drinking noisily at the water bottle when I'm trying to sleep, and constantly attempting to show Bacon dominance but after a few minutes submitting. Eggs' personality has blossomed, making him fuzzy, lovable, very noisy, and "bottom pig" personality.

Those are my boys!

That is a good idea! I remember when filling in the thing about my pigs I had so much to say but no space! And quite frankly, my family and friends and strangers in the fabric department (I am addicted to new fleeces for bedding, cuddle cups, cuddle sacks, hammocks, etc.) are sick of hearing it! But you all are cavy crazy like me, so its okay :)

Benny: Benny is the first pig I got after about six years of not having any (awful, I know). He's got brown roan coloring with some white patches thrown in and the most adorable little mohawk going down his back. I found him on craigslist when he was a month old. He was suppose to come with his brother, but when I showed up to pick him up, I was told his brother had passed away. Not surprising seeing as I was to find Benny in a cat carrier inside of their kids closet. It didn't even have bedding of any type on the bottom! He had no hidey (even though a cat carrier is like a glorified hidey). He had a water bowl full of soiled water and pellets. The guy wanted 15 bucks. I threw it at him and ran away with that poor baby pig as fast as I could! He was very skittish for awhile but has now gotten more comfortable with me and my family. We have had him for a year now. He is very laid back, loves to snuggle and will lick the kids hands when they come over for a little pet. The only time he gets excited is when he hears the fridge door opening or smells his much loved Orchard grass on its way. If his hay rack is close to empty for any space of time, he will stare reproachfully at me until the problem is rectified. And he apparently sulks any time I am not home.

Spencer: Spencer is my latest pig and Benny's cagemate. I have had him for a bit over a month. He is an Abyssinian with brown, white, grey and black all over the place coloring. I had placed a wanted ad on craigslist for a male cagemate for Benny after waiting for the local animal shelter to receive some forever to no avail. A woman who lived a hundred miles from me contacted me, saying she had him now because her daughter had gotten him in July and had pretty much decided she didn't want him anymore and left him with her. She was disabled and didn't feel she would be capable of getting into his cage to clean up after him or any other necessary pig duties. He spent quite a bit of time rumblestrutting and trying to display his ample alpha male pig skills to Benny. He has just recently gotten the point that Benny couldn't care less if he is top pig or not! He is definitely the strangest, most out going pig I have ever owned! He purrs like mad when you scratch his back, his little piggy eyes practically roll into the back of his head when his feet are rubbed and he has almost no fear! In order to clean my girls cage, I have to step into the boys because theirs overlap the boys in an L shape. He will come right over and start yanking on my pant leg to let me know I am in his territory (he, after all, OWNS the section under the girls cage). He is quite the character.

Judy: Judy (Garland) is my American with white and reddish bi-coloring, with beautiful blue eyes. I have had her a week longer than Spencer. I was contacted about her after posting my ad on craigslist, even though I was looking for a male or two to be buddies with Benny. She was "almost" six months old and had had a litter after her owners thought it would be "no big deal" to house males and females together. They had given all but one of her babies away at 1 week old. Well, I made a trip for more cubes and coroplast to make a female cage because I just felt awful for her. She was horribly skinny when I picked her up and I just fell in love. She mainly hides and will only come out when all is quiet to eat and drink or when I place the veggies in the dish and back away slowly. She has been chubbing up very nicely with daily veggies, occasional fruits, a healthy amount of pellets and all the Orchard grass she can handle. She has also been getting a bit bolder and wont run for cover EVERY time there is movement in the living room.

Liza: Liza (Minelli) is Judy's baby. I got her when she was almost two weeks old and she is a little doppelganger of her mama. I couldn't stand the thought of them being separated and I am glad that I could keep her with one of her babies. They are as thick as thieves. With a decent amount of handling Liza is getting pretty comfortable with her human slaves, but she doesn't like to come out of the cage without mom and if for some reason she does, she will scream until her mom is with her. She is a bit more comfortable being out from undercover when people are around, but still a bit skittish. I am thinking its because she just follows mom. She is quite the popcorn enthusiast, and can be seen going about it for at least two hours out of the day, followed by laps of the cage and a short rest in her cuddle cup before joining her mom.

Ginger: Ginger is my orange and white American Pig. She likes it when I stroke her nose, she will even come out of her pigloo and nudge my hand for more petting..although she does not like to be geld.airborne. She usually never.wheeks but I have heard her do it once, but it is low pitched and sounds like an owl..she appreciates all the veggies I give her and likes to cuddle. She is chubby!
Coroline: Coroline is the baby. She is full of energy and likes to popcorn and play. She wheekes all the time especially when a treat is about to arrive...she greets ne at the cage and.is nit hard to pick up cause she never runs from me..also she is still small and adorable. She is hyper and really likes to run in circles which is funny watching. When she popcorns it is hilarious because she does it then she walks it off like "No im not doimg thus again:
". And then she does it nonstop. Also she is black with 4 small white spots: some on her nose, all white paw, little line up between her eyes and some white on her back

My first ever piggie Cecelia Charlemagne (enter my last name here, lol) found herself at a house after being given up by her previous owners. I was at the house because I'm part of venturing (a extension of boyscouts to teens of all genders) and when I heard they had guinea pigs, I just needed to see them. They gave me Cece to hold, and I didn't put her down the whole time I was in their house. She was living in a small, store bought cage with pine bedding and alfalfa based feed with seeds. These people tried to feed her unrefrigerated, stale carrots (which she promptly refused). They were giving her away because she wouldn't let any of their pigs into her tiny cage. I had done some research in the past, and had been wanting a pig for a while. I brought her home, and we bonded quite quickly. She's an agouti of some sort, I think possibly bronze with Dutch markings. She's a huge sweetie pie who gives many, many kisses and prefers to snuggle under my chin rather than lay in my lap. She's quite submissive, and prefers a fleece forest over any other hidey. Her favorite treat is apple. She barely makes a sound, and it's usually only a little "wub" when she does. She's bitten me hard enough to draw blood, before (I was trying to make sure she was a female so I knew which gender to get.) luckily she forgave quickly. But she hasn't bitten me since.

Lucille Caroline (my last name here) was given to the humane society. I was looking for a friend for Cece, and Lucille was that pig. A man took her out of her cage, and we snuggled for the mandatory 15 minutes, she was very nervous, not making a sound, and so I took her home. She's a tricolor, a mix of brown, orange, and white with red eyes. Now that she's comfortable, she's the loudest of the two. You can hear her screech through the walls of my house when it's veggie time. She's very active, as the vet estimates that she's less than a year old, and isn't always wild about sitting still for lap time. She likes to have her chin rubbed, and is the dominant piggy of the two. She has the air of "I tolerate you, don't make me mad." She's a lot like a rebellious teenager.

What a cute thread!

Alfie: Alfie is a tortoiseshell colored abyssinian. He is as spunky as his hair and the hilarious one. His popcorns are frequent and high and he is half a contortionist when he does them. I love to just lay my hand in the cage and he comes over and kisses my hand and knuckles..and usually drops off a chocolate sprinkle for my cleaning pleasure. He is forever trying to push past me during spot cleans. Alfie is the master of the castle. He is Mr Rumblestrut and is always leading the way. But he loves Nicodemus and nuzzles him and whenever the salad comes out he always sends out a little message which lets Nicodemus know that food has been served. As much as he loves to play with my hand when I am in the cage, he is a wiggle butt when I hold him and dying to get out of my hands so he can roam the Earth and explore. Alfie got his name after the 80's character ALF.

Nicodemus: Oh my ruby eyed boy. Nicodemus is smooth haired, white and blonde with a touch of a grayish tan over one eye and on his butt. His eyes are super red and I love them. He is my gentle cuddle boy. Much more reserved than Alfie and quiet. He doesn't hardly ever wheek, just has little conversations with me during lap time. He loves to get up under things...his pigloo, the hay rack, Alfie when he is nervous haha, and my HAIR when I hold him. And the fleece which is why it's oversized and clipped to the coro LOL. Nicodemus loves lap time and will sit and sit and sit forever if I let him. He is a tad under the weather right now with an ear infection, but responding very well to his medicine and only a hint of a head tilt this morning. Nicodemus got his name after the old and wise rat from the movie The Secret of NIMH.

Not only do they look like their namesakes..but their personalities fit them to a T :)
