cavy cage crit
I'm moving into a 2 bedroom in Harlem in a week, and due to it I'll finally be able to set up a really nice sized cage. We're either going to put them in the living room or animal room, but either way it's going to be [l/w/h] 6-2-3, 8-2-3, 6-3-3, or 8-3-3 [yes, it will be a 3 level cage, however notice that it is very large at the bottom, the higher 2 levels are -1 in length. i wouldn't even have the higher levels if my cavies didn't seem to love to climb so much to the best of their tiny legged ability].
Now. The reason I'm asking for a crit is because I was planning on making the cage like 2 towers with a courtyard or pasture at the bottom that is split down the middle like such:

This way, the left side could be for females and the right for males. However, my only concern is the following:
Do I need to "wall up" the inner sides of the tower walls and the split so that the boys can't see the girls? I know my Domino calls to the girls from his cage across my bed room even when they are not in sight, but what I'm WORRIED about is that if he can finally see them, in clear veiw, that it will cause disputes between him and any other males we rescue [which we plan to].
However, if that's the case, won't the simple sound and scent of them also drive them to bickering? I don't want to have to put two seperate cages in two seperate rooms, it would hinder the lives of my other animals.
So am I stuck with just Domino and girls forever? Just wanted your input.
