Hello all im new, my name is Josh and i am 18 years old currently going to school for phlebotomy.

I have two very gorgeous female guinea pigs whos names are Savannah who is black and brown with scruffy hair and Sophia who is white and light brown straight short hair. They are about a year and a half old. These are not my first guinea pigs.

My first was a male black and white guinea pig names Ryan i had him for 8 long years and i was crushed when he finnaly died to a respatory infection that i did not know he had. For a while i beat the hell out of myself for that i wish i could have known to save him, but i moved on and now have my amazing lady pigs, but i will always remember my first Ryan.

I look forward to meeting you and shairing stories about our little friends lol

Welcome to the forum! Eight years is a long life for a guinea pig -- you must have done a lot right in that time to have had him so long. And at eight, it's doubtful that you could have saved him anyway.

I will agree - that is a good age for your guinea! An amazing age! Which then, at an older age like any animal they can have complications... don't beat yourself up about it, you gave him a good long life!
