I don't get my cats. When the girls are in their cage, two of my cats want to get to them. As soon as I am holding them and petting them they want to lay next to me and the girls. They don't try to attack them, instead they are giving the girls baths and sniffing them. My third cat just loves to lay next to the cage and sleep and wants nothing to do with them. Are these normal behaviors?

I have three different reactions from my three different cats. Smoky thinks they are other kittens that should play with her, Sophie thinks they are a speedy snack food, and Charmander is convinced they are going to eat him.

Cats are unique and have different prey drives. I'm sure age has something to with it, too, and where and how they were raised. They're very intelligent and probably understand that the guinea pigs are off limits when you hold them but are fair game when they're alone. Think about big cats in the wild.... They watch the weak ones when they're in a group or protected by their mothers. They wait until they're vulnerable to attack.
