Never canned or frozen. To be honest I don't know why, but EVERYTHING I have read says never canned or frozen!

fresh is the best! canned as all the extra junk in it! frozen is ok ... but make sure it thaws before giving it to your guinea Pig! Still fresh is best

Honestly you should just forgo the fruit. They usually have too much sugar or acidity for little piggie tummies anyway. And most canned vegetables are legumes, which guinea pigs shouldn't have. So just stick with the fresh stuff :)

I don't think frozen is that bad. Most fruit/veggies that have been frozen are frozen when they are just ripe perserving most of the nutrients, just make sure its not freezer burnt. Fresh produce is usually harvested before its fully ripe so that it will survive the travel to the grocery store.

Most canned veggies have added salt and canned fruit is usually in some type of juice or syrup which sucks because it can be so much cheaper! :(
