Can my hamster get fleas?

I brought a cat home that has fleas from my local animal shelter and I was wondering if my hamster could get fleas and if so what can I do to get rid of them?

Hi! I believe I responded to your first post, yes, they can get fleas, the besting thing to do is bath them with small animal shampoo. Baths will kill the fleas after you're done bathing you can take a comb and comb them out gently.

I think all mammals can get fleas, yes. People, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters...you name it. I say mammals though because I really don't know about birds and reptiles, and I highly doubt fish or amphibians or other insects can get them.
