Saw a craigslist ad for Timonthy Hay in bulk bales by a horse farm. Are they safe for guinea pig consumption?

Yes, they are. Just make sure they are nice and soft and don't have any alfalfa mixed in the bale.

Edit to add:
See this page on how to select good quality hay.

Yes I will make sure that they are all Timonthy.

I know your question has been answered, but to let you know, most people would choose to buy from a farm like you are. The quality is good, and often the price is low too.

:)

Although I get mine from (broken link removed)

:D

Yes, the price is extremely cheap in bulk compared to bags sold at Petstores or Grocery Stores. :)
