Hey, My dad just bought some sunflower seeds, and can guinea pigs eat them? My dad game Oscar a handful, and he ate them like there was no tomorrow? Is this safe?

well people have told me that they arent good so i wouldnt give anymore but im sure oscar will be ok with just a handful.

I think they can choke on sunflower seeds.

Sunflower seeds are good at all for guinea pigs, unless it is not in the shell, and not salted. That's what I've heard. They can choke on the shell though.

They can choke, and it's just full of oils which are just fattening. I wouldn't do it.

All seeds are not good for pigs.

like mentioned above, sunflower seeds (or any other seeds or nuts) should not be given to piggies. they can easily choke on the shells and the shells that do make can cut their intestines. and the seeds/nuts are very fatty also.

Argh, I meant they "aren't".. Sorry about saying the insiders were okay, someone told me they were.
