I've seen many pictures of peoples' cages on here in which they don't have the typical coro edge. It looks like they just binder clip fleece to a flat piece of coro. I'd love to do that but my concern is poop would get tossed everywhere. Anyone have any feed back on this who have tried this (or haven't)?

They do have coroplast sides. The fleece is just clipped to it.

I also wondered that because it seems like it would be much easier, especially with my naughty pigs that like to burrow under the fleece! But I do think there is some extra clean up involved with everything getting kicked out. Just a difference of sweeping the fleece in the cage or sweeping the floor lol! I personally made a version of the fleece flippers to try in one of my cages and absolutely love them. I'll be making more for the rest of my cages as soon as possible!

no there really are no coro sides. You see the full 14 inches of grid.

I've tried having grids sitting directly on top of fleece, uhaul pads and shower curtain (no coro). The results, poops getting kicked out, some poops stuck on the grids, and in the corners. If your pigs do not use bathroom near the edge or in the corner, you'll be fine. If they do, you'll spend more time scrubbing the grids.

You can use another flat piece of coro and clip fleece on that piece. See Onetwo's fleece setup.

My coroplast only goes along the bottom of the cage and I peg the fleece up the sides, (I can't have coroplast up the sides due to the way the coroplast I get is cut).

It works fine for me, no naughty piggies burrowing under the fleece.

I just made my first C&C and you can see all of my grids too because the Coroplast is inside (unfortunately only about 3 inches for the sides instead of 6, but I will just vacuum! lol). My foster pigs are in my daughters old play thing for roaming toddlers to keep safe and keeps the boys safe that is about like a 4X3 area on a shower curtain with some Carefresh and hideys/toys. I need some more grids to make a C&C as I have another 3X6 sheet of Coroplast that i can cut for the boys and didn't think about that until now, lol. I just sweep it up, and voila. They are in the middle of the living room, so I hear and see them all the time especially since I am on medical leave. I am so proud of myself. I love looking at everyone's cages! If only I were half as crafty and had more $!

I only have coro on three sides, so the front is open and I've tapered the coro on the short sides of the cage, I like having the visibility but I didn't want anything falling behind the cage, and my piggies don't really poop near the front. I tried a couple of thing
coro all around-didn't like not being able to see in
coro only on the two sides against the wall-poo was falling on the floor from the corner that was no-coro/coro.
I'm just trying this new three sides with the taper and I'm thinking its going to work out well.
I also just have one large sort of insert/flipper that a clip my fleece too.
heres a pic

I started with no sides for optimal viewing, and yes, poops flew! I had to baby proof, so sides went up and poops STILL fly. I think SamanthaC02 has it right, but I think a few stray stinkers here and there should always be expected.

Samantha - I love that! I might have to try something like that in the future. Our sofa is up against the front, so we would probably still need some sort of lip, but I hate that we can't see them. Especially our little one, she usually climbs up and sits on the back side of the sofa so she can see them.

On the flip side, Bella and Layla are so cute when their heads unexpectedly pop up over the coroplast to investigate.

We have the high side in the back, but somebody still launched pee on the wall behind it. There's an oil painting on that wall and pee dots reach up to the frame (about 4" above the grids. Yikes, not my painting! If there were guinea pig olympics, there could be a sport - pee shooting. LOL.

You're right, mama_ , poos do fly. I have the flat coro panel floor (for easy stretch & clip fleece changes) and I ADDED a zip tied a coro lip (about 4") to the sides and back (like Sam's above.) Poos still sneak out, but not too many.
