I have my 4 girls in a 18 sq ft cage made from white wire shelving. I'm fostering 2 boars who arrived in the largest pet store cage. Now that they are healthier and settled in, the teeth chattering and yawning have begun. I put them in a 3ft by 3ft cage that I made with whatever supplies I had. It's 9 sq feet, and still too small. I was going to put a kitchen on that is 1ft deep and 3 ft wide, but that still doesn't give them more floor space in the main part. If the cage total is 5ft long, and 3ft wide (the floor space would be 4 ft long x 3 ft wide, then the kitchen on the end will be 1 ft deep and the width of the cage-3 ft) is that going to be enough space? I'm familiar with the recommended cage sizes, but they say boars need more space, and wider is better. I've never had boars before, so I don't know what to do. I refuse to make another 18 sq ft cage-I just don't have the space for it, and I won't stack the cages because I don't think they get enough light when they're stacked.
