cage is wet

cage is wet

I just started reading this board and I realize now that the cage we have for my daughters piggies is too small. But I still wonder if thats the reason it gets so wet.

The water bottle is large but they seem to empty it in no time. I really thought most of it was dripping in the cage but after three different water bottles I'm not so sure. Perhaps they are drinking and wetting.

We got the piggies as babies 4 months ago and now they are just so HUGE. Perhaps its just their urine now that they are bigger?

Do they play with their water? I kept thinking they were showering under it when no one was around.

Any insights into water bottles or wet cages would be appreciated.

Re: cage is wet

I have found the smaller the cage the more wet it is. I have 4 piggies and foster 1, so I have 5 water bottles and believe me, they do leak some. I put a landscaping brick (the kind w/o holes) under the water bottle and when it leaks and drips onto the brick and dries. Also a good way to keep the front nail trimmed down. They have them at Wal-Mart and the cost of them were 47cents. So very cheap and saves the bedding from getting all wet. Hope this helps.
