Hi, I'm planing on building a c&c cage as soon as i can convince my parents to let me adopt some piggies. I want to make a cage with 2 lofts so that I can use one as a hayloft and one as a sleeping area and the bottom would be for running around. I don't know where to find colorplast so I was woundering if it would be ok to use wood for the base and then cover it in linolium tiles so it would be water proof. Does this sound like an ok idea? I would also like to know if it would be better to use aspen or carefresh for the bottom.

thanks

Have you called any sign shops?

you can go to the internet and do a google search for corplast and find some one in you area.

It should be fine to put linolium upon the wood alot of people just put it on there ground. I like to use aspen (which both aspen and carefresh are safe) because from petco i can get 4 cubic feet of aspen for $12.99 and carefresh like two liters for like $20.00. So i like to use aspen but some people will tell you to use carefresh but i believe it is totally your descion(sp).

no not yet I'm not sure we have any in my area I'll check though, thanks :)

thanks would it be better to use a mix of aspen and carefresh, because the aspen doesn't look like it would be very comfortable of their feet. Thanks bubbleguine I never thought of that :)

That would be fine.

You know I do not know how confortable it on of there feet but Bubble Guine loves to run around on the aspen. I guess you could mix but I would not just because it would cost money that I would rather spend it on there food rather then bedding since you just throw it away. But that is my opinion.

ok thanks for your help. Now all i have to do is convince my parents to let me get a pair of guineapigs and build the cage :)

You are welcome

I think I might use wood because my dad has some left over from some projects he didn't have the "time" to finish. At least it would give him an excuse to use the saw we got him for Christmas. Which do you think would be cheaper?

I think that coroplast would be a whole lot easier! And, less heavy and easier to handle, but use wood if thats easier for you.

I'm 14 by the way, how old are you?
