Hi. Lastnight I made my first C&C cage, which is atleast twice the size of the cage my 2 guineas were in before. I actually had them in 2 store bought cages combined, but then got a 3rd guinea pig...so basically I wanted to make a bigger cage for Henry and Oscar, and eventually introduce Walter (the new Guinea who I'm actually quarantining right now because he has an upper respiratory infection) to a larger cage. I now realize that I have to go bigger than the 2X3 grid I just made. I have plans to make a second level...so I have more coroplast. Does anyone know of a good way to add an addition? I've seen some great ideas in the photo gallery, but was wondering if there were anymore...I'd appreciate the help, and so wouldn't Oscar, Henry, and Walter.

Thank you!

Andrea

Do you want help with the upper level, or just an add-on to the existing one?

Lower level add-on

Hi, I need help with adding on to the lower level. I can't really just add a piece of Coroplast and tape were they meet...right? I'm thinking maybe I should make another Coroplast box and connect them somehow. I wish I would have thought of this before I put it all together! I took tomorrow off from work to work on this...I might have to go and get more coroplast and start from scratch!

Ok, well, you have a couple of options.

1. Buy a new piece of coroplast and make a totally new, bigger bottom, and add on to the existing grids.
2. Use leftover coroplast or buy a new sheet and make only the part you are adding on. You can tape the pieces together where they meet, just make sure it is pretty secure and mostly leak-proof.
Good luck and I hope I helped! =)
