So, in getting ready to add my third girl to the cage I have been thinking about the choices I have to change the cage and need some advice.
Our cage is currently a 2X4 C&C in the main living area of our home. Our girls are petted, held and loved on all day.
My choices are: leave the 2X4 and add an exterior ramp and a 1X4 as the kitchen area/leave the 2X4 and add a 2x2 as the kitchen area with exterior ramp/make the current cage a 3X4 and no 2nd level

My problems are:we currently have the cage on a table with a piece of board under it to ballance it on the table.....it is perfectly solid and doesn't move, gives the girls a good view and is the perfect "petting" height. If I make the cage a 3X4 I will have to get a bigger board and I am not certain about the ballance issue. If I do a 1X4 I will need a support mid-way to ensure it doesn't sag. If I do a 2X2 I may have cleaning issues and accesability issues.

SO...If you have read through this and understand...LOL..congrats! I think too much, I know..just want what is best for my girls. Any ideas or oppinions?
P.S...I cannot go longer than 4 grids long in the space we have it and there really isn't a better place for them.

Expanding to a 3x4 would probably be better, and you could always make a stand for the cage out of extra grids.
