c&c top, can I use grids somehow?

Is there someway to make a top for a c&c cage from grids?

You can, look in the closed galleries. Also you can make a lid with the 16" shelving they sell at Home Dept and Lowe's. They will cut it for you to the correct size. There are also pictures of this in the gallery.

It would be difficult since they would be floppy, with no support. I recommend what slap said about the shelving. Tremendously more stable.

Yes you can. I did before, and it was sort of stable. You have to cable tie a Lot, and then put a support by just bending a grid together so that both ends meet together. You can put that in the middle of the cage, but for a bigger cage you will want 2 or 3 supports. Then you can lift up the lids halfway, ect..

It really depends on what you want the top for. I made a top for mine out of grids, but I only need it so my animals don't get the idea of trying to jump in an open cage (I have 3 cats and 2 dogs), but they never jump on the cage itself. If they did, it probably would not hold them without a lot of support from bent grids underneath. Also, they really don't look all that good either because it is hard to get them to fit perfectly sicne the bottom of the cage is made of connectors, while the roof is better if you use zip ties.

I use grids for my lids and my fat cat can walk on them without the grids sagging. I over lap them by one grid. It helps the stability tremendously. If you look in my gallery you can see my lids. I used grids for my old cage and my expanded cage. I had to cut some of the grids on my new cage for the opening part of the lid on the lower level. That was the difficult part.
