Hey so my girlfriend and I just got our very first guinea pig! We are super excited to have little Pablo. We just put him in his cage which he seemed to like but he went strait to his hidey hole and has come out. I've read other post on here that say this behavior is normal but I just wanted to see what y'all have to say and maybe get a estiment on how long this behavior should last. Anything helps thank you!

Yep, it's normal. How long it lasts depends on his own personality. All piggies tend to like to spend a lot of time in their hideys, but I'd estimate unless he's especially shy, if you don't scare him and just spend a lot of time sitting by his cage and calmly talking, he'll be willing to take veggies from your hand in a week or less.
