Bottom of cage

I am curious, the cage I am thinking about making, is a 2x4 and with a 1x2 upper level for sleeping, I noticed that they are built off the ground which I want to do, so what I am asking, is for the bottom of the cage, where it connects to the stand itself is that just the coroplast(sp) or is that the cubes underneath the coroplast. Also how much cubes would I need exactly to do a 2x4 with a 1x2 top
I am guesstamating, about 25 with out the stand and and 8 for the stand, also where are they the cheapest, and are they metal, or plastic, what is best for the gps. Thanks all

Cubes are under the coroplast. For your whole cage (including loft) you would need about 38 grids (depending on how much support you put on the stand) My math is probably wrong though. The grids are plastic coated metal.

Will GPs chew the plastic?

Some pigs will, mine do occasionally but they tend to be running around more then sitting there chewing, also they are on the outside of the coro.

On my bottom level I dont have cubes under the bottom. Only the upper level. I have a plastic table cloth that extends past the cage all the way around that the coroplast and cage sits on.

Shes talking about using grids as a base, I don't think a table cloth would work. (Could be reading everything wrong though)

If you look at my pic in the gallery, i use grids around the edges and nothing on the bottom. Maybe I misunderstood.

Yours isn't elevated , like off the ground with cubes though
