Rabbits bonding rabbits

I put my two rabbits in a pen together and at first Minnie, the smaller younger bunny, was a little scared of Maddie but its been about 4 hours now and they are laying down, taking naps, cleaning themselves, and eating. What do i do now? Should i just keep putting them together for a few more days? And when can I have them live in the same cage?

Sounds like you had one of those bonding experiances that everyone dreams of! Usualy there should be short 'play dates' done until they can be confortable together, but if they are doing fine for four hours now I would not seperate them.
Are they both fixed? How old?
If you want to house them together you have to compleatly clean the cage first (with vinegar) and move everything around just as you would a piggy cage.

They are both females and they are both spayed. Maddie is about 7 years old and Minnie is About 2 1/2 years old. And Maddie mounted Minnie a couple of times but shes not dong it any more.

I just cleaned Minnies cage because thats the cage they are going to be in, can I put them in it yet?

Sounds like they did great. It's a good thing they are both spayed. It would help if there is two of everything too, of course the vinager, a few new things and of course monitered. I've tried to bond but held off until they are both spayed. Mine are still babies (under a year).

I hope it all goes well for you. It's nice to have bonded rabbits.

I am a little worried about putting them in together only after one bunny date. They do good on neutral territory. You might want to wait at least one more. It's just my suggestion. Mine did great their first bunny date but the older one was shooing the younger one away from everything she was trying to go to the next time they were having a bunny date.

It sounds like they're doing extremely well. I've heard that 2 spayed females can have issues but they may be getting along so well because you have older buns that both are out of the "teen" years. I put them together in Minnies cage. They have been in there for about 6 hours and they are doing really well. They are sharing food and Minnie is getting used to Maddie. Im really suprised at how well its going.
