Ever since I put Pippin in with Cocoa, I've noticed that they've kind of been 'play-fighting'. I know that alot of animals do this, but I wasn't sure about guinea pigs. They rumblel-strut at each other, chase each other around, so it looks like they're settling dominance, but then they run away pop-corning uncontrollably. Is this just playing?

I would think so, esspecially with the popcorning.

They are probably still sorting dominance issues but playing around too. Sounds like you have two happy piggies with all the popcorning going on.

Isn't popcorning when they jump up high and kick their legs up and are a bit clumsy when they do it. If that is what it is my piggies do it all the time!!

i have never seen Mustard popcorn, but then she may not be a happy piggie. We did find her at a public park with burnt and shrivled whiskers. she tends to be a biter but i am working with her. She has made friends with my cats and they will sleep together and play together. Some people here have expressed concern about the cats. what is the problem?

Alot of people are uncertain of leaving to species together without supervision. I saw the picture of your cat in the pig's cage in the galleries, and I'm not sure if I would completely trust them together. It's just that the cat could get startled, start to rough house, etc. However, you determine how the pig lives and we don't really have a say with it, so don't be to bothered by it.

Yes, Ly, they're always getting into little fits here and there about 'who gets the green pigloo', and so on, but they're okay. It just seems so weird that they're pop-corning that much after arguing.

My girls do the same, chase each other out of hidey houses/cavy caves and get into small tiffs but they seem pretty happy all living together. They popcorn all the time, except CoCo and she is so big and she is fat and it's hard for her to popcorn like the other girls do but she tries so hard. She once came straight up about an inch with all 4 paws off the floor during one of her popcorning attempts.

The thing with cats is they are predatory animals while piggies are prey animals. There are instances where the cats go after the pigs and try to kill them. Not all cats do that.

Popcorning is when they jump and look like they are having a seizure at the same time. Their body twists a little to a lot and it's just so cute to watch piggies popcorn. If your pig doesn't popcorn it doesn't mean they aren't happy, they tend to popcorn more when they are extremely happy.
