Conditions Bleeding?

I found this post on my local CraigsList. I feel bad for this owner and would like to pass some advice onto him / her. Being a bunny owner, I do not know ALOT about guinea medical conditions. Here is a copy of the ad, and advice will be passed on and appreciated. Thank You!

Hi I have a female guinea pig that i got for my son for christmas. about an hour ago she started bleeding from her bottom i am not sure if it is from her butt or vagina. It looks like a lot for a guinea pig leave a drop to drop trail in her cage and when i held her it got on the towel. I have looked online everything says take her to the vet but they are not open till tomorrow and with the amount she is bleeding i am worried she wont make it till then. Also I don't think she is pregnant i got her on christmas and i have not had her with any males. any words of advise would be apreciated. thanks

She may have a urinary tract infection, or a uterine infection called pyometra. The latter is very serious and requires immediate spaying. It's possible that it could be a urinary tract infection, but that's a little doubtful if she's not squeaking when she pees. She needs to go to the vet if she can find an emergency vet open at night that knows anything about guinea pigs. She should ask if they do before she takes the pig in, and if not, who they'd refer to for guinea pigs.
