Paula, Thank you for the suggestion! My dad was just asking me about ointments to put on the wound, I can now give him an answer, and we will probably pick some up in the next day or two.

Sure! Sorry, I had the name wrong, but here's a picture of the product. As with any other topical antibiotic ointment, use it sparingly and try to keep her from licking it off or getting at it as much as possible and if you are able, hold her still until it can dry up a bit. It's like a gel ointment that has a VERY strong medicinal smell but I've always had good luck with it.

Today is Day 10 (I think?) And Tiger's wound looks wonderful! It's mostly just a flesh wound right now and is MUCH smaller than it was a few days ago! And I think I'm gonna go ahead and let it finish healing up (I may do a "deep" cleaning one more time).

Looks much better. I'm sure you will watch carefully for infection.

Oh yes, and she still has Baytril left until next Monday and I plan to keep giving it to her until it's all gone. As of right now it doesn't have that nasty infected smell nor does it has nasty tissue. It also doesn't appear to be refilling with pus, her face is flat not puffy. Any sign of infection and it's probably back to the vets for Tiger.

Today is day 14 and Tiger's wound is completely healed up! It's got a little ways to go but is looking great.

You did a GREAT Job with this. Last year I had my go with abscesses, they are a royal pain.

Thank you! I really hate abscesses. But I'm just glad this was an easy one. My last pig with an abscess was 100000x harder to get rid of (I don't think it ever went away)

We've had them, too. They're a lot of trouble but well worth the effort to treat them when a full recovery is made. :)
