One of our piggies has a little nick like on his nose. I am thinking he didn't takes his brother's NO as a no, but rather as a maybe and got bit. There is no blood in the cage and he doesn't appear to be bothered by it unless you try and touch it, but then he never liked you to touch his nose, so the nick may not be the reason.
I don't know what I can do for him. It's very tiny and wasn't bleeding when we found him. It looks like this morning that he may lose the top layer of skin and fur, but underneath does not look raw. He's eating and chasing his brother like normal. They do play and do the "my nose is higher" but have never fought. I am thinking this was a nip to warn him his brother (the more dominant one) meant business, so I am not worried about separating them. They are peacefully eating breakfast this morning.
Should I do anything for it? Or just let the skin come off. It's on his nostril area, so I am hesitant to put anything on the skin if not totally necessary, because I am afraid he will breathe it in. Any advise would be greatfully appreciated.
