Hi all,

I was just wondering which dried Guinea Pig food is the best to buy in england. Around here I've only seen Pets At Home own brand and Gerty Guinea Pig food by Supreme. Can someone tell me which would be the best to buy?

I was just going to ask this question! I used Allen And Page guinea pig pellets from The natural pet food company.

I donn't think gerty guinea pig food is good. I used to get that and it was a mixture, I'm not sure what is best, but it isn't that one. Sorry!

yeah, gerty guinea pig feed is not the best.

i don't know if they have this in england but Cavy Cuisine(sp) is good.

So if Gerty is no good I'll have to get Pets At Home own brand. I'm surprised that gerty isn't a good food. They also make the Harry Hamster food and that's the best hamster food available.

I decided to go with the Pets At Home brand since it was just pellets.

Maybe you could post the ingrediants and someone could tell you if it was a good brand.

good idea

I think Guinea Lynx has a pellet ingedient listing and rating done by a vet tech. That's where I look when I changed over pellets (I used to use the PetSmart brand pellets.) Here's the thread. I found it very useful. I'm using the Pet Valu pellets (very closes to the best Keytee alfalfa pellets) for now while my piggies are young (I can't find cavy performance in my area) and when they are old enough I'll switch to Cavy Cuisine (which I can get from my vet, for some reason they carry everything but Cavy Performance and alfalfa hay.)

Here's a link to the thread. It's long, but it's very useful.

Don't support pets at home! We have one near me and it's crap. I got my allen and page pellets from a local horse feed. It is a mix though... but there's nothing wrong with it

I don't exactly have much choice but to go there!!

I don't think beet pulp is good for pigs. I'm not completely sure. You could always order food on the internet. Try a search at guinea lynx, or ask there, they would have a better idea.

Can you suggest any UK sites I can order from?
