no, I pay $10 for 4.4 cu aspen compressed, and $12 for a 60Litters of carefresh -
I carefresh takes care of 11/4 cages, 1 bag aspen takes care of 6 cages

I've got about 35 piggies at my house right now (22 C&C cages). I use kiln-dried pine shavings in every cage with 3 layers of newspaper below the shavings. I get the huge bags for horses at feed stores. A bag that is about 7.5 cubic feet expanded costs $7 and will change cages for about 15-20 piggies. Carefresh is way too expensive for this many piggies and fleece is way too time-consuming.

yes I agree, although I loved the idea of fleece it just isn't realistic. I still have to use the carefresh for the texels but the shavings do help offset this cost a lot, thanks.
