Okay. I have had it with the wood chips all over the place. They are everywhere. If you walk to the garage, you come back covered. Plus, the piggies kick them out. So, I'm ready for a new alternative. I have read a lot about fleece and was thinking of putting fleece over newspaper. My only concern is that I have a naughty, water bottle emptying, piggie. I currently have a patio stone under it and it is saturated at all times. I put a ton of newspaper under that and change the cage about every 3 days and the whole place is soaked. I have tried a water bowl and that lasted about 20 minutes and then it was full of poop and wood chips. So, is there anything that will contain all this water? Any other ideas?

ps. I just read this and it sounds like the piggies are in the garage. Rest assured, their cage is right behind me in the office. I change the cage and store all the wood chips in the garage.

What sort of woodchips do you use? I have heard carefresh dosen't really fling out, but I could be wrong. You might also want to think about getting another water bottle, hehe. Most people sew a layer of fleece and towel together, then put newspaper under than. Some just put newspaper and fleece.

I wish that were the case. This is about the fifth one and I blamed the mess on the leaky water bottles until I actually sat and watched her do it. She just mouths it for about 15 minutes, then wanders off, then comes back and does it again. This continues until the bottle is empty.

Try a litter pan under in the corner where the water bottle is. But some bedding in there, and maybe the brick patio as well. Then, when it is drained, all you have to do is change that section.
